Storyline Online
My current KG/1st grade multiage
classroom cooperating teacher always uses this website as resource in her
classroom. It provides many stories read by enthusiastic readers that hook the
student’s attention. The clarity of the video and sound makes it feel like a
live read aloud.
Sadlier-Oxford: Phonics Student Online Components
Phonics and word study is a large part
of language arts in the elementary world. Sadiler-Oxford is a website filled
with tons of information about related to many language art topics for young
students. This link in particular focuses in to help students use their
knowledge of letters, sounds, and words to play games that will enhance their
understanding.
Garden of Praise
This simple website is geared towards
helping students understand and memorize parts of speech through catchy
songs. I enjoyed reading through the many examples provided for each
PoS. Also, students and educators have the opportunity to print the
definitions of the parts of speech on posters or cards.
Anglomaniacy.pl
Basic grammar for ESL students is
provided on anglomaniacy.pl. As educators, we must pay attention to students
who may need extra help, such as ESL students. This website is a great resource
for these students, especially if their families do not speak English at home.
Students can independently browse through and learn more about English grammar,
play word games, and sing songs.
Fun Brain
Funbrain is an extremely inviting
website that has many topics from ranging from reading to math. I was ecstatic
to learn that there were so many popular books located on this website in
online web versions. Student can read, practice grammar, and play spelling
games.
